Distribution
Phelsuma berghofi is up to now only known from a small area in the southeast by Madagascar near Somisiky, about 2 km from the coast.

Terra Typica
Somisiky, Southeast Madagascar

Biotope
The animals are found exclusively in the treetops of Ravanela madagascariensis, at heights of 3 to 5 m, never on the trunk. They withdraw immediately when they sense danger in the hollow leafs where they are very well protected . The climate is typically hot and very damp for the east coast, tropical. By the proximity to the sea the relative humidity rises up to 100 % and the temperatures at night drops only little. It is always somewhat windy.
